God sightings!!

So, is God active in today's world? Have you experienced 'God moments' recently? Have you told anyone about that encounter? In the Old Testament, in the book of Deuteronomy 6 we are told to speak about the wonders of God 24/7, to tell our children stories about Him, to remind them of all of the marvelous ways in which God is active in the world. So where have you seen God lately? Today he came in the form of four friends. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself and feeling pretty low, and God sent four friends, at four different times throughout the morning, and they each shared the same message with me, even though they weren't aware of it. God heard the deepest cry from my soul and sent a message to me 4 TIMES to be sure I heard it. So how has God been present in your life? Here is a place for you to share those stories so that we all might be blessed. And then be brave and share your "blessings" with your family!

Faith is Caught more than Taught

Or so makes the claim by Anderson and Hill in their book A Frog Without Legs Can't Hear. This area is designed to help us help each other "fan the flames of faith" in our homes and in our community. As parents and caregivers to the next generation, it is our responsibility to be role models in all areas of life, and that includes faith. I'm sure you've already found out how those little eyes watch your every move and are learning all kinds of things from you, even when you didn't realize it! So it is with faith..they will learn about faith from you one way or another, either by the things you do and say or things you don't do. Things that are important to you, such as care of the environment or healthy living habits, get passed on. So do things you might view as less important, such as washing the car regularly, eating family meals together, or opportunities for faith development. Obviously these lists will be as individual as you are. But children will learn by watching you.

So these resources and each of us are here to help in the important task of passing on the faith. And the best thing for your children's faith is a strong faith of the parents. So, that is my desire and my passion, to help us help each other strengthen our faith and the ability to share God moments within the family. It can be scary, but it is also a wonderful thing to begin to see all of creation from God's point of view and rediscover how much He truly loves us. And then pass it on...
